Entry: One Journey Ends Thursday, June 17, 2004

Our brother Jon's journey ended today at 7:10 p.m. He was surrounded by his family and friends who meant so much to him. Jon's loved ones were able to say goodbye and tell Jon how much he meant to us before he passed.

There will be a memorial service this Saturday June 19, at 5:30 p.m.

Thomas Jefferson Unitarian Church

4936 Brownsboro Road Louisville, Ky

Mere words can barely express how much all of the support, caring, and kindness meant to my brother and our family. Jon was truly blessed to have such a remarkable group of friends and associates surrounding him. All of his family and Claire thank you for loving and caring about my brother.

Though I felt I knew Jon through Cate, I regret that I never had the privilege of meeting this wonderful man who was such a dear friend of my daughter's.

To Jon's family and to Claire, Jim and I extend sincere sympathy in your loss. Please know that you will remain in our thoughts and prayers in the days ahead. The loving care given to Jon by his family and friends has been inspirational and is a tribute to both Jon and his caregivers.

Many thanks to the hospice staff at Norton Audobon. You treated my brother with such kindness and respect. Bless you all.

Jon, The team held you in our every thought this evening. Many of your teammates of past years played their hearts out and even though it wasn't spoken, I'm sure each played for you. I've remembered you every time I look over to first base, sometimes expecting you to be there. Just know that in many ways, you still are. Peace be with you and your family.
Forever your Teammate,
Duayne
